Our Code of Conduct and our house rules apply for the duration of the entire festival.

You can find an overview of all locations https://ars.electronica.art/hope/en/#locations. Further details such as the exact addresses and opening times will be announced in summer 2024.

We ask all our guests to travel as climate neutral as possible. To this end, we recommend that our guests from abroad use the great European rail network.

Your journey to Linz, Austria:

  • By train: Take the ÖBB or the Westbahn to Linz main station. All festival locations can be easily reached by tram from the main station.
  • By plane: The Blue Danube Airport Linz (LNZ) is located in Hörsching, 10 km from Linz. From there you can reach the city by bus, train or taxi. From Vienna International Airport (VIE) you can reach Linz with at least hourly, direct train connections. For international guests who cannot avoid flying, we recommend offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, e.g. with a donation to Climate Austria to support Austrian environmental protection projects.

In Linz: All festival locations are in Linz and can be reached by public transport (tram, bus), by bike or on foot.

  • By tram: The festival mile is located along the central Linz tram axis. You can use all tram lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the LINZ AG LINIEN to reach the main venue POSTCITY. The nearest tram stop is Hauptbahnhof, the nearest bus stop is Waldeggstraße. For more detailed information on all bus and tram connections we recommend the LINZ AG LINIEN timetable.
  • By bike: If you have the opportunity to travel through Linz by bike, take it! On https://www.radlkarte.at/#linz you can find your optimal way to the locations.
  • By taxi: There are multiple taxi companies you can use in Linz. Some examples would be Taxi 6969 reachable at +43 732 6969, Taxi 2244  reachable at +43 732 2244 as well as Anruf-Sammel-Taxi (AST) by LINZ AG LINIEN reachable at +43 732 661266.
  • By car: Please note that not every festival location offers parking facilities, here you will find an overview of underground and multi-storey parking lots in Linz. ATTENTION: There are no free parking spaces at POSTCITY! We therefore recommend these paid parking garages in the surrounding area: Garage Bahnhof – Wissensturm Linz, Hauptbahnhof Parkdeck, Bahnhof Landesdienstleistungszentrum. Carpool if possible, use (e-)carsharing or rent a car from tim by LINZ AG LINIEN as an alternative to a private car.

An overview of accommodations in Linz can be found on the platform of LINZ TOURISMUS. Weekend packages for city travelers are available here. We recommend international guests to book their accommodation early and check the entry requirements to Austria in advance.

Unfortunately not. The nearest ATM and lockers are located in the station hall of Linz central station.

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the Ars Electronica Festival venues. However, assistance dogs are permitted.
